The construction of this beach house was finished in 2008. It’s about 2 years to complete this home building. Designed by Andrea Ponsi Architect, Tiburon House is a modern holiday house that can be found in San Francisco, California, United States. Using about 4,500 m2 site area and 850 m2 built-up areas, the Tiburon House is completely perfect living space to enjoy beautiful ocean views.
The center of the Tiburon house is an empty room, a contemporary courtyard-garden bordered with a glass-walled balcony alongside its edge. The wings of the home give out from this room towards the 4 cardinal points: 4 rectangular pavilions that independence is accentuated with character sloping copper roofs. The modern living room opens, with a long wall of innovative sliding glass doors, onto a wooden deck which descends regularly to the seashore.
This courtyard gallery is the actual axis of the residence, the linear component between the position of entry and the seaside. All along the balcony is sliding glass doors that open onto the south house garden below.
Right away after the house entrance hall, the outdoor room of the inner garden opens on the left. Conceived as a small domestic patio, this backyard is enclosed on every part of 4 sides with a veranda that functions both to allocate the interchange in the home and as exhibition room for an art deco collection.
This Tiburon House design configuration makes a ventilated wall that contributes to the temperature control of the home interior.
The construction’s electrical wants are completely furnished with about 100 square meters of solar photovoltaic panels mounted on the roofs and concerning 90 square meters of special “solar glass panels” consisting of photovoltaic foil preserved among two sheets of glass. The south garden, following the east-west axis of the home, is made up of long wooden decks running parallel to linear plantings of flowers and herbs.
