Talo Kekkapaa (Wood in Rock) building architecture one kind of Mixed use office and single family house designed by POOK Architects’ Office using about 4,300 m²site area. This modern office design program is contemporary single main suburban structure, an office building with comfortable sauna and storage space, and a workshop construction. The Talo Kekkapaa can be found in the historic rural areas of northern Finland, amidst old farm buildings and open fields with rocky forest islands, the Talo Kekkapaa was planned in harmony through the existing scale of its surroundings by a modern palette.

The Talo Kekkapaa design combines accommodation, work office and playful childcare idea into a rhythm of functions that are properly linked and buffered throughout the construction. The meditative back side through lichen-moss-covered rocks was left untouched. The home sauna idea building architectural project situated at this end of the place was built with hand without some main machinery purpose to preserve the natural surround. The segregated working facilities orient towards the quiet of the surrounding natural forest. This generated a new approach of bringing together wood and rock architecture material on place wherein the wooden office building is incompletely inserted into the rock. This solution enables an ease of maintenance of technical installations crucial to sustainable structures. This is truly simple and minimalist office cum residential unit building plan.
