Macrae-Gibson Architects designed Truman High School modern building architecture design project plan located in Bronx, NY, USA was built in 1970, and is element of a five-school complex known as the Northeast Bronx Education Park, located within New York’s Co-op City housing project. The Neo-Brutalist seven-story brick and concrete construction is built around a large rectangular courtyard. The contemporary courtyard architectural ideas have a double-loaded corridor plan on each side, through ultra modern stair design towers at the external corners. As a result of the large size the school, the space circulation system around the courtyard is extraordinarily inefficient, as the total length of the corridor on each floor is 850 feet. To make access across the school building from floor to floor, the design includes 8 ramped bridge-corridors which crisscross the courtyard. Stretching from opposite sides of the Truman High School structure to either on the floor above or the floor below. Here is it interior and exterior school decorating pictures gallery. via
